Daniel, was working successfully as an executive in a leading start-up, and was soon being deployed on a highly critical project that would land him up in a coveted role .Amidst this, he was reached out by a top manpower agency for a small role in a top tech giant ,which was lucrative but very insignificant in comparison to what he was doing currently.

Daniel was in a dilemma, at one end he had a lucrative offer ,at another end a role but with Growth as a promise.

Given the times we operate in ,uncertainty is the new normal and part of any role ,no one knows what the future holds!

We both worked together for hours ,and during our deep dive sessions, learnt the following :

1.Our “Values”- what’s most important for us. are the key factor that shapes our decisions, in case of Daniel , he let go off the lucrative offer because he valued organic professional growth more than the benefits the tech giant offered.

2.There were many hidden factors at play ,holding significant impact on people and future ,especially in a decision making process. Always validate your thoughts with another when arriving at key decisions. In case of Daniel ,it was his mentally retarded sibling ,and spouse with an auto immune disorder.

3.Our unique life experiences play a key role in shaping our mindset ,problem arises, when we fail to understand the pattern and act on impulse. A coach can hold space for you ,especially if you belong to a category of being impulsive.

Conclusion : My deep dive sessions with Daniel were areas that brought new insights to both of us , the questions I had to put forth for inquiry and the responses for analysis ,assisted me equally learn the various key factors our life revolves around ,and how every choice made is an opportunity cost ,where we forgo one for the other!
