How stress impacts

  • Amanda feels tired even after a 8 hour long night sleep
  • Tom is agitated even at a slight change in plan by his team
  • Julia finds herself with low appetite and constant acidity ,despite her no indulgence in any kind of junk food.

A common reason that ties all the above three is chronic stress , a slow poison, which is ever prevalent in all our lives .

Chronic stress is not a contagious element , instead stems from a state of mind build by an ongoing series of events which are usually a result of mismanaged emotions.

My own story of experiencing chronic stress, goes back to my corporate days . Having tasted success and being promoted every year with the highest rank ,when one fine year , I was given the lowest rank and put under a performance improvement program, it broke my trust with my self. It hit my self worth ,dented my confidence to such an extent ,that it took me years and only help from my coach to understand that it was just a system ,manipulated by a set of people in it.

Performance improvement is a regular feature in an organization , but the same can turn someone’s key strength into their weakness at an individual level it can be devastating, just as in my case.

But why do we get stressed in the first place , and why it is so prevalent in every aspect of our life ?

A simple answer to this complex question lies in our lack of ability to understand our own self with its relations to the world around it , especially when crisis strikes.

& remember ,crisis can strike anyone and in many ways.

I did got help, but having been through a lot , today, my only regret is , only if I had reached out for help at an early stage, I could have saved myself several years of stress and suffering .

Therefore , if you find yourself stuck, confused, stressed out or ,it is still not late, if you think you need help, reach out, do not wait for that one fine day, which may never come ,simply get coached
