Wisdom from my Copper Pod Tree

There are days in life, when one finds oneself, raw, vulnerable, and triggered by the past, seeking a way out of it.

After a long closure to a coaching assignment which was not only challenging but also emotionally exhausting, I slipped into a phase of compassion fatigue.

My state of mind, ruminating, and second-guessing, lost in my baseless assumptions and overthinking, I began to question each and every effort that I may have put in, and which so far has not yielded any result, tired and frustrated I headed to my terrace, my space where I have spent countless time with myself.

I decided I needed more time to spend with myself and this was, with an intention to ruminate further on the same topic, I was fixated on.

The moment I was on the terrace, what I saw was my Copper Pod Tree – (also known as Peltophorum pterocarpum , botanical name of it), I was awestruck, and something inside me shifted instantly.

It came across as if “I’ was presented with a huge bouquet of flowers to cheer me up, and in response I wholly accepted it.

With my gift of bouquet, I stood there smiling and recollected Keats – A thing of beauty is a joy forever!

Then I recalled, this was the same tree, just three months back in winter, which stood like a skeleton showering its dry leaves non-stop, till it had nothing left on it.

Looking at it now, blooming like a huge bouquet, hosting birds of all kinds, parrots, and honeybees busy making honey out of the countless flowers blooming within it, spreading the sweet fragrance, which was dense and mesmerizing.

I was awestruck, I stood there lost in its beauty, and in this beautiful moment, my tree offered me some wisdom.

  • There are no shortcuts to success.
  • Patience and Perseverance always bring in good results.
  • All good things take time, but they do happen.
  • Have faith.
  • Never give up.
  • Be grateful for what you have than chase what you don’t have.
  • Nothing last forever.

I stay ever grateful to nature for comforting me with so much ease both to my mind and body, bringing in the element of little joy of life, when I need it the most.
