Learn from unquenched thirst.

After a long walk in the hot sun, an intense household chore, or a workout, if we reach out for that chilled glass of water, and yet, the intensely cold water fails to make us feel satisfied and our thirst fully quenched,

Do you wonder why?

This is because, let me try to explain, the science behind it in a simple way.

1. Absorption rate Too much cold water does not get easily absorbed in the body, it takes time and a bit of energy which in turn seeks more time to do so and thereby results in not quenching the thirst, instead sometimes increasing it.

2. Temporary system usage of chilled cold water is a temporary cooling system that fades away very quickly, leaving you thirstier than before.

3. Temperatures mismatch our bodies take time to adjust to a cold fluid in our stomach vs the current body temperature thereby resulting in increased thirst instead of quenching it.

Did you observe,

If the very process of drinking cold water can result in dissatisfaction, wherein the goal was, using cold water to quench the thirst.

The result here invalidated the goal itself, and therefore anyone with a wise mind approach would perhaps not want to repeat the experience.

As a result, next time when you feel thirsty, one may instead choose a mildly cold or water at a normal temperature to feel satiated rather avoid feeling thirstier after a long gulp of cold water.

Satiation is key here, which often impacts and drives our behavior of repeating the same actions, or choice we make based on that which satisfies.

Imagine our life and countless pursuits, in which we encounter disappointments or when we experience results not exactly as we had envisioned, leading us to fall into a self-pity trap or a vicious circle of intrusive thoughts pointing the entire blame on our “self”.

This then eventually leads to more disappointments and a pessimistic outlook, calling for a perspective that the above scientific example of “cold water dissatisfaction” explains so well.

Let’s answer this question.!

Where in your life, do you think you are not satisfied, despite the best and right resources being put to use?

after writing down your response, now explore all the mismatches (valid reasons & results) you could identify in it, perhaps you may just end up finding the answer to your deep-rooted frustration and disappointment with it.
