Lesson on patience is virtue.

Some days are tough, especially when there has been a long-drawn effort to generate leads for the business, create marketing campaigns and churn out valuable content to stay up-to-date with the competition.

On one such tough day, I went on working with the lowest motivation level and looking for excuses that could assist me in escaping the need to work again.

It was a warm and long summer day, and I had just finished designing another market campaign but was in no mood to launch it. I realized I had yet to water the plants in the garden, especially the new poinsettia plant I bought from the nursery recently.

I went to water the plants and, while doing so, came across three new tiny fresh tomato plants resulting from bird pollinating seeds into a vacant pot.

On moving ahead, I saw the bougainvillea, which was blooming with pale pink and orange flowers in a bunch.

I sat back to admire these beautiful plants, which reminded me that they didn’t appear the day I had planted them. Still, several months later, the results slowly began to manifest, some in buds, some blooming with flowers, and some bearing fruits.

This wisdom from nature reminded me of the same principle that I need to apply to my work too, the principle of patience.

As the wisdom dawned, something inside me shifted along with my perspective!

That day, spending time with my tiny plants ended up :

  • Nature being my coach.
  • Holding space for me.
  • Filling me with hope

And as I was about to leave, through the wind, it silently whispered in my ears; “all good things take time to grow and that successful results are never an overnight work”.

I carry this valuable lesson from nature with me even today. And when life pushes hard, I revisit my plants to gather the wisdom they have for me.

Adopt the pace of nature; her secret is patience.
