Childhood memories ; Playing hide & seek, with sunshine.

oplus_32

Walking through the passage of time, during a morning stroll and a visit to the grandma’s house, I paused and captured these mango trees which are in full bloom with the flowers indicating the onset of summer.

A kite hangs from one of the branches, reminding of Makar Sankranti, which just concluded the sun solstice on Jan 14th 2025

I play hide and seek with the Sun.

A game I have been playing since I was 4 years old, cuddled up next to my grandma whom I would fondly address as Amma.

I turned 44, two days ago, and here I stood staring at the sun, reminiscing my childhood memories and with my below average mathematical abilities trying to calculate the number of rotations Sun has made, since I was 4, to now 44!

I could not arrive at any conclusions, however, enjoyed my little game of hide and seek with the sunshine 🙂

And filled with my best cherished memories walked on with more resilience and grit.

A practice I often indulge in when I’m caught up in my deep web of nostalgia which is a mix of grief and hope.

Life may continue to play many weird games, and when it tires you come back to the childhood games that can lit you up with all the energy you need to take on the complex world.
