It was a humid day of May 2019 ,two years ago, when during a random visit to the nursery ,I ended up buying a small sapling of “Raat Ki Rani” popularly known in the Indian household , goes with a botanical name of Cestrum nocturnum, the lady of the night,or the night-blooming jessamine.

These flowers bloom only in the night ,spreading a very heavy fragrance, which is strong and may leave one with a heavy head, if one constantly tries to soak in the fragrance!

This little sapling was planted in a pot ,which I would water it regularly , it slowly spread far and wide , but without a single flower ,while every second day would appear dull with dropping leaves .

After 2 years of constant nurture , transferring it from the pot which could no longer contain it , the plant reached its full growth filled with flowers blooming at every end.

Just like the plant, we reach our full potential when rooted firmly in our positive beliefs, steadfastness and growth mindset.

In summer ,when the nights are longer ,dry and warm, even a sporadic whiff of air is what one seeks, and with the light wind ,these flowers sway along spreading the fragrance far and wide.

Being right outside my bedroom’s window, I sleep with the wind filled with its fragrance along with the curtain caressing’s my cheek and ears ,lulling me, to into my dream land.

After a tiring day ,filled with coaching cases of hope, despair, anxiety and stress an experience like this ,moves me ,humbles me ,and in all modesty ,make me extremely grateful to God for its subtle blessings, mercy manifested and bestowed so beautifully, as I prepare myself to take on another tomorrow.
