Performance appraisal used as a tool for settling scores.

Any working professional with a minimum of one year of work experience would know what a performance appraisal is all about, a common process with different titles and methods, but practiced in every big and small organization.

An interesting part of this is, even though it is implemented for the employee’s professional growth and development, it is seldom used for it, instead is a tool often misused by all those difficult toxic bosses, who under garb of feedback want to settle scores, humiliate or avenge.

It’s a kind of a corporate lethal weapon one need to handle with lot of care by both parties the one appraising to the one being appraised for his/her performance.
