Constant Stress

When Ava found herself constantly reeling under a thought that refuse to leave her “What if I make a mistake and it backfires” the state of her physical body remained under constant stress and high alert, a kind of state of vigilance, seeking safety all the time.

To feel anxious about making the right moves in the political landscape of one’s workplace is not easy and when we approach it unprepared it can completely take us on a different tangent and can also cost one dearly.

The Inward journey

Ava’s lack of conviction kept her indecisive and also undermined her potential, despite the best of efforts, she could not find the courage to take risk and thus remain stuck in playing small.

A deep dive session probing Ava on her risk appetite gave a new dimension to the entire coaching assignment,

But for this, I had to separately add an additional month schedule to only work on this specific area for Ava, to make her understand what really held her back and her constant need to play safe and be safe!

Interestingly what started as a search for safety ended up in being an intense explorative ride for Ava.

And as the journey unfolded, she was more surprised by the insights and beliefs she held on to, some of which turns out to be the biggest barriers, a construct of her own making.

The “What If’s” have time and again proven to be the biggest bottleneck.

Political Landscape

Turns out that the political landscape of all workspaces rewards the courageous, those who take that risk and are not stuck in their What if’s!

Ask for help, not because you are weak. But because you want to remain strong.
