My Self-Doubt story that kept me limited.

When for the first time a new software was introduced into our organization and system, it was met with lot of restraint, some made jokes out of it, some very conveniently gave it away to their subordinates including the access details to fill on their behalf and also for themselves.

I ,on the other end was curious and this curiosity not only made me learn it,

turns out it was the first time I was introduced to a realization of how much passion I hold for technology in general.

Being an early adapter, I also became a go to person for this software and then one day without any prior notice, I was asked to prepare and train a bunch of campus recruits from the top B schools on it.

I went and the entire session was covered in an hour, it was a cakewalk, because besides the processes my penchant for studying things at depth gave me an edge over others.

The presentation went well and was completed on time; however, I did not stay and at the first opportunity left the room to find escape from the staring eyes and the feedback to come.

I never believed to receive a thundering applause which filled the room in a fraction of second, but somehow, I quickly escaped it with my endless excuses, some to myself and a lot to others.

Later on, I was told and shared all about it by my boss, who was super proud of me that day.

Regardless of my feedback,
At my end I was lost in my own self talk as to –What made them choose me?
Why me?
I kept asking myself, as I never fully considered myself competent enough to be chosen for such work.

The Self-doubt not only kept me limited in my approach, this attitude made me undermine my immense potential and also kept me away from success, very easily giving it away to my boss and colleagues to take credit for my work,

while I was somewhere all alone in a distant world lost in my SELF DOUBT.

If you are like my younger version, enmeshed in self-doubt also known as Imposter syndrome, here are the links to some of the work I’ve done to assist you overcome it.
