The Fatigue
Ava is a Senior Leader in a MNC, handling a large team, while she is very organized and systematic with her approach both towards her work and personal life.
Off late Ava finds herself feeling drained and exhausted , even after a full night’s sleep
Initially she thought it could be the usual Vitamin D deficiency and the hormonal imbalances that have been troubling her, but it turns out that while some of it was actually due to it, a large part of her exhaustion was mental more to do with her worry mind and overthinking.
In one statement – Ava was sick and tired of being sick and tired!
She would dress for the occasion both at office and back home, but despite putting in the best attire and appearance, people could not miss the exhaustion on her face and demeanor.
She tried more ways to create a thicker mask and strong boundaries so that her work of pretense is not caught.
But when during a client conference meeting she began to experience bouts of vertigo and had to eventually take help from her subordinate to walk till the parking space of her car, she said to herself, that she can no longer go on like this.
The complex story behind
On our first call Ava thought I would send her to a psychiatrist for a depression or GAD – general anxiety disorder treatment but when I didn’t do any of that, instead gave her the following
- Mindfulness techniques for daily use to build her focus
- Guided Meditations on Self care
- A set of specific questions, with 3 golden rules, a part of our deep dive work to work upon(self-awareness)
- 3 MIT Time Management technique
- Toleration exercise to prioritize what’s important including the Monkey Mind technique.
As Ava began to practically implement these tools in her daily life, she was both relaxed and surprised at the insights she was able to gain as she tapped into her inner world, and also was able to regain her sense of calm, that she always wanted
The Inner World of Ava.
While not everything was as expected or pleasant as Ava ventured into an inward journey, her inner self paved way for new bittersweet openings and insights she was able to gain about herself.
She was very hesitant in the beginning and find the whole process daunting and more exhausting than the mental exhaustion, but with the right nudge and support she was able to continue on the exploration.
Awareness is the first step to a most effective and a possible solution.
